White Wednesday

Whites in the living room.  I've been wanting a new sofa, or at least a new slipcover for this one.  I do have a beige slipcover, which I just removed to wash...but I really want white.  I may attempt for make one myself as I have been inspired by fellow bloggers who have make amazing slipcovers. I may also want to lighten the color of the walls.  They were painted this color when we moved in, and this has just not been a high priority.  What do you think...lighter, white?  Not sure!

The pictures do not do the rug justice.  My husband brought this home from work one day...it was destined for the dumpster!  It is made by a company in Sweden called Kasthall.  The content is 100% linen in a 'shag' style!  I found a company in New York that sells these rugs, and this rug is over $1,000!  Can you imagine.  It is in perfect condition!

Remember the concrete stump from my last WW post?

This is a little clay crow that a friend of mine made...to cute for fall!

I love this little sawbuck side table...one of my favs!

I looked for the longest time for a coffee table.  This farm table had been cut down and it is so sturdy.  Feel free to prop your feet up or leave drinks on it.  My grandson and friends sit on the small chairs to eat, play games, shape play dough, etc.  No worries here!  Love it... I'm all about comfort!

Thank you Kathleen at fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com/ for hosting White Wednesday..it has become one of my favorite days of the week!

  1. I love the look of this room! The farm table cut down is such a wonderful idea. I'm always wanting a large surface to do projects, puzzles, games, etc. And, your rug was such a great find!

  4. How lovely! I think the color is perfect ('course I just painted a room this color so I could use all kinds of whites in it!) I also have a coffee table that started life as an antique writing desk. It was a weird height, so we cut it down and it's perfect now. Great post!
    peace.

  7. I enjoyed seeing you living room so much. It's very inviting. A little lighter wall color might be nice for a change. Then your'll want some darker pillows on your couch. I love the little chair up to that cool table.

  8. I love your living room Susie! I love the coffee table, side table, magazine rack (crate) and well... everything else in the room! I think you should go for it on the slipcover for your sofa! You could use the one you have as a pattern! The color of your current slipcover still looks really nice, but I know how it is....gotta have white! ;-)
