~Inspiration~

I am so grateful to be a part of this 'crazy, fun blog world'.  Not only do we get to share our homes, gardens, talents, lives and whatever we have on our mind each day, we also have the opportunity to meet people all around the world  with common interests!  Every morning when I get to my computer with my coffee in hand, I always find the most  interesting  posts....it's  like getting a new magazine every morning with wonderful articles, pictures of homes, gardens, food and of course, all the lovely creations from so many talented people.

Therefore, the title of this post...."Inspiration".  Never before have I encountered an avenue where so  many are willing to share their creative ideas as well as 'how to's, where to buy, great products, etc'.  I can't begin to credit everyone that has inspired me.....but  today I just want to say a special thanks to Dawn at The Feathered Nest....for the inspiration to do a couple of projects. I think everyone knows her!   I love that she is so willing to share her talent and creativity with us.  Thus, here's a little something I came up with today, with the inspiration coming from Dawn!  As they say over and over again on 'American Idol'..."take a song and make it your own"...so here's my interpretation of one of Dawn's songs!

A while back she posted a tutorial where she turned a soap box into a gift box, which was so cute.  Last night I made this:  It was fun...

So when I found a wood cigar box at the thrift store today...I knew just what to do with it:
I photocopied botanical prints and went to town with my spray adhesive (I love that stuff).  I then gave it a light coating of glue and water, and lastly worked the magic of 'Distress Ink' to give it more of a vintage appeal.

The handle is an old metal drawer pull with rusty, chipipy white paint.  I drilled two small holes to hold it in place and added seam binding which I grunged up a bit as the tie.

Ta Da!  I think I like it!

So ...now (I hope this works), I've scanned the images I used if you would like to use them in any way.

That's All Folks!
