~ My Best Friend ~

I first met Brenda in the 6th grade.  I was shy and introverted....she was a tom-boy, spoiled rotten only child with no fear...of anything!  Not sure what really drew us together 43 years ago, but we've been 'best friends' ever since.
So, this afternoon, I dropped by for a visit and brought her my present since we hadn't see each other since Christmas.  She handed me my present...I gave her hers, and as we opened them, we broke into joyous laughter.  You see, we had each bought the other the same gift!

We had been in Saks back in November (just passing through on our way to the Anthropologie and Pottery Barn).  We stopped at the Kiehl's counter and both fell in love with this amazing cologne called "Forest Rain".  I'm sure we both thought we had the perfect gift for the other....the only thing is........We both also bought ourselves one too! We'll be smelling good for a long, long time!

Have a wonderful week!

  1. Susie,
Hi there, haven't visited in too long. Your house is looking awesome! I love the changes you've made. You will love your new couch, I have the same one! I have the white slipcover & a black & white toile one. They wash so well.

  2. That is so funny! I did the same thing with a friend of mine too. One year we bought each other the same sweater. We've been friends for about 27yrs now. We really are so different too. We don't see each other as often as I'd like but for the last 3 yrs she comes and works for me at Christmas.
We're like sisters and I know she's always there for me!

  3. That was such a cute story. I see why you're best friends!

  4. Just shows great minds think alike! Glad you have such a great friend, I have one too!

  5. Your story is too friends are hard to find!!

My post you commented on... the plant is a boxwood and it is faux. It is amazing how the quality gets better and better every year.

I did order the 2010 January issue of Jeanne d'Arc...should be arriving any day now.

  6. I love that story! You obviously have that special "friend" bond with each other. It's such a gift to have someone like that in your life.
