Our "Big Event" antique show was this past weekend in Mt. Dora. I was only able to be there for a short time on Saturday, and only found one thing...a stool for my kitchen. My husband helped a friend set up on Friday and guess what.....he found this cool old white cupboard! Good job Michael! And here's the best part....he only paid $30.00 for it! At first I couldn't figure out where I could use it....but the old brain kicked in and here it is in my kitchen. I've put my cookbooks in it, which freed up much needed room in my cabinets. The doors do have glass inserts, but they are currently out, pending a good scrapping and cleaning. I'm contemplating putting some fabric in instead...what ya think?
The stool....perfectly white and very sturdy. I'll make a padded cover for the top from some old nubby linen fabric.
A new vignette, featuring one of my favorite antiques. I just love this little sawbuck table with the drop sides!
Isn't it just the cutest?
And lastly, I've decided what to do with my cozy chair and ottoman, thanks to help from Shellagh,
http://tickingandtoile.blogspot.com/. She has made some wonderful slipcovers and offered me some great suggestions.
This has to be the ugliest footstool ever....but I'm a gonna make it cute!
Look what I found in my closet!
I had almost forgotten that I have 2 of these wonderful vintage laundry sacks. I'm going to use one for the back cushion of the chair. I have an old linen tablecloth which is a great match that I'll be cutting up for the remainder of the cover. Wish me luck as Shellagh has convinced me to add piping...Ahhhh!
This gathered linen fabric is from a bedskirt found at the thrift store (real cheap), which I'll be using around the base of the ottoman. I will probably make the top with the other sack, or make a pillow for the sofa...haven't decided yet..
So now that I've posted about this project...I'm feeling more motivated to get started this weekend!
