My Favorite Antique Sign

Several years back, my husband and I were antiquing in Tennessee and stopped by our favorite shop in Bell Buckle, Phillips General Store.  If you ever have the opportunity to go there, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.  Anyway, the first thing I saw when I entered was this sign.  I think my heart skipped a beat or two.  I gotta have it, I thought.  You see,   I collect antique signs,  love gardening and all things floral....and....my Grandfather's name was 'Winfield'.  We also gave our son the middle name of Winfield to honor my Grandfather!

I'm joining French Cupboard for Vintage Black Friday.  This is the first time I've linked here, but I wanted to show off share my wonderful sign!

Happy Friday!
Susie

  1. I am new to your blog..discovered you through...oh...geez..I don't even remember. What a wonderful, wonderful sign...and to think it had your Grandfather's name on it. Well, when that kind of thing happens I am always sure that God is saying...Take it-it's yours~at least that is MY excuse. Diana

  7. You always find the best stuff Susie. i just read that you got that cabinet for $50...holy moly you're good!
That sign just reminded me of the sign George just bought.....a Maynard's Grocery sign. I think he might have fibed about what he paid for it but I don't really care...it's cool.

Oh I looked for a white barn .....my favorite color too!

  13. Hi Susie,

    Love that sign!!

Well...as a matter of fact I know exactly where that store is...I was just there I guess a bit more than a year ago. I found a card full of French lace that I couldn't live without and an antique baby bib with the sweetest embroidery. There were too many things that my heart desired in that shop! ha ha

I'm from Tennessee, my Dad was born in Nashville...we were looking at real estate in Bell Buckle the day I shopped at that store.

We wound up buying in the TN Smokies near Gatlinburg instead though. I wanted a bit more convenience than Bell Buckle offered..Although It's a charming town and a wonderful piece of history that lives on and on.

I'm visiting for Vintage Black Friday...drop by! I'd love to have you visit.

    Happy Day,
    Stephanie ♥

  18. Susie,

I HAVE been to Belle Buckle and the store!
Had some great ice cream and wandered the town. Loved all the picket fences.

What a great sign! Since I see by the comments you often find wonderful things, could you keep your eyes peeled for anything with Rennie on it? hehe
