My Favorite Antique Sign

Several years back, my husband and I were antiquing in Tennessee and stopped by our favorite shop in Bell Buckle, Phillips General Store.  If you ever have the opportunity to go there, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.  Anyway, the first thing I saw when I entered was this sign.  I think my heart skipped a beat or two.  I gotta have it, I thought.  You see,   I collect antique signs,  love gardening and all things Grandfather's name was 'Winfield'.  We also gave our son the middle name of Winfield to honor my Grandfather!

I'm joining French Cupboard for Vintage Black Friday.  This is the first time I've linked here, but I wanted to show off share my wonderful sign!

Happy Friday!

  1. I am new to your blog..discovered you through...oh...geez..I don't even remember. What a wonderful, wonderful sign...and to think it had your Grandfather's name on it. Well, when that kind of thing happens I am always sure that God is saying...Take it-it's yours~at least that is MY excuse. Diana

  2. Wow--what a find for you! And, what a fantastic sign. I just love it!

  3. What a wonderful find with so much meaning. You were just meant to have it! Thanks for sharing! I love it and it looks like it was meant for your home! XOXO

  4. What a great find! It was meant to be for you.
    Have a great weekend.

  5. I can see why you love it! It's a wonderful looking sign and the fact that the family name is on it makes it extra special!

  6. That is such a great sign and now a wonderful family heirloom.

  7. You always find the best stuff Susie. i just read that you got that cabinet for $50...holy moly you're good!
That sign just reminded me of the sign George just bought.....a Maynard's Grocery sign. I think he might have fibed about what he paid for it but I don't really's cool.

Oh I looked for a white barn favorite color too!

  8. What a great sign with a great story behind it! Words are great!;)bb

  9. What an exciting find! Love the story!

  10. I LOVE this sign! I'm always drawn to them, but not always the price tag that come with them.

Glad to hear you received my card and hope you enjoyed. You have been so sweet to me.

    Take care,

  11. that is a great sign susie. happy sunday.

  12. I bet you had that aha moment when you saw that sign. It even had your name already on I love it too and would love to find a sign for my kitchen...always something to look for which is the fun of the hunt. Thank you for sharing. I love, love, love, it.

  13. Hi Susie,

Love that sign!! a matter of fact I know exactly where that store is...I was just there I guess a bit more than a year ago. I found a card full of French lace that I couldn't live without and an antique baby bib with the sweetest embroidery. There were too many things that my heart desired in that shop! ha ha

I'm from Tennessee, my Dad was born in Nashville...we were looking at real estate in Bell Buckle the day I shopped at that store.

We wound up buying in the TN Smokies near Gatlinburg instead though. I wanted a bit more convenience than Bell Buckle offered..Although It's a charming town and a wonderful piece of history that lives on and on.

I'm visiting for Vintage Black Friday...drop by! I'd love to have you visit.

    Happy Day,
    Stephanie ♥
