Nature Behind Glass

I was just messing around in my studio today to get some stuff ready to take to the antique shop where I rent a small shelf.  I seldom start with a plan as.....I seem to do my best work when I'm spontaneous.
I've had this glass display case for a while with no inspiration and even tried to 'rust' the metal (it didn't work).  I actually now like the juxtaposition of the natural, rustic elements and the glass and metal.

"Nest" woven from Black Eyed Susan vine, assorted mosses, quail eggs, hornet's nests, tallow berries, a vintage clay pot, feathers and a few branches.....nature's bounty!

I'll be taking it to the shop tomorrow...

Thanks for stopping by, and I would love to hear from you.

  1. I love it. I'm with you. Creativity doesn't come until I start working on a project. That's why it's so hard for me to delegate to anyone what they can help me do. Yikes! That's how I get myself overloaded, but...oh well.

  2. Love those natural type of displays! Very creative! Hope you have a great week! :)

  3. No design is better then Mother nature. Lovely

  4. That is gorgeous- once that is in your shop I think it will sell in no time flat! Blessings to you today and I hope you have a wonderful week- xo Diana

  5. This makes a sweet natural display. We don't have tallow berries. I love the look of them. Thanks for stopping by! The napkins are from William Sonoma! They are lovely and soft and they still carry them.

  6. Hi Susie! Thinking about you and wondering how you are!! Wedding #2 is in 12 days, and then I get my life back!! Hope we can get together then! Let me know how you are, sweetie!

  7. LOVELY PICS:) I really like your blog and I want to follow, do you have twitter or FB??
