Michael's Pickin's

My husband, hereinafter called 'Michael' works with his family in their truck parts business.  They have a HUGE junkyard.  I got to thinkin' the other day, "surely there's some neat stuff out there...some cool junk....gears, rusty metal pieces, interesting truck pieces and parts, etc."

"Don't you ever see neat old stuff that I would like?" I asked.  So tonight...he brought me presents....rusty, crusty old presents!  He did good!

This guy is big and heavy.
White, rusty metal...
Now, what to do with it?
Any ideas?

"Thanks honey", I said.

I have my own personal 'American Picker'...

Have a wonderful weekend

  1. Make a window flower box, if not for a window make it a flower planter. Stuff the outer areas with moss and then put soil inside. Plant some pretties and enjoy.

  2. Jan hit it right on the head- exactly what I was thinking...a wonderful planter! Love it! He did good! xo Diana

  3. I might use it for file folders myself.

You lucky girl you! This JUST occurred to you? BOINK!

  4. Oh I like it all sooooo much. I am thinking drag it in the house, I really like a pop of rust in the house. :)

  5. Lucky you!! I would hang it on my wall (bottom side on the wall) and use it as a shelf, then I would take some family photos print them in black and whites and place them on my shelf, or let it just like it is, it's a piece of fabulous rusty art. Have fun deciding. The first picture, the wire basket on wheels, that looks like a tea cart to me, or kids laundry basket, they can wheel it right to the laundry room.

  6. It's nice to have a husband that can see the potential in things!! Hooray for you! I can't wait to see what you do!

  7. Those are amazing! I love the shelf idea. That's what I'd do... I'd fill it with vintage books, my blue glass jars, and maybe a plant of some kind. Can't wait to see what you do with both!

  8. Great finds! Both would look good inside or out:-) Received my letters andlove them. My board was just a tad too short, but I'll figure something else out....I'm sure I've got things lying around..LOL

  9. Lucky you. I need my own personal picker too!

  10. You Lucky girl!! First because your husband gets it!!! And because of what he brought home.
I love the cart, it's could be a bar or a tea cart. Great storage too.
The big heavy thing is cool too. I might have to think about that.
Hope you are enjoying the weekend~SueBee

  11. That's to way to pick 'em! That would make the most amazing planter ever. Way cool stuff!

  12. Woowwwooow...what a haul! I love everything you found!

    best, Kelley

  13. Oh yes indeed you are very lucky...more rusty things for your cute yard!!
