A New Style ~ Got Any Hats?

So, I have lost my hair, but here's the good news:

~I'll save $ on haircuts, color, shampoo, etc.
~Faster showers
~Less time to get dressed
~It feels funny

People tell me my head has a nice shape, and my ears are nice too
I'm believing it will grow back thick and curly

But, in the meantime, got any extra hats?

  2. Susie, I've followed your blog and I'm sending prayers your way. You're inspirational in your positive attitude.

I'm one of those "odd-ball" women that prefers my hair either short or nonexistant. I buzz my hair most of the time, and this summer, I shaved it (complete with shaving cream and a Bic). There's nothing wrong with my hair other than I just don't like having the muss and fuss.

A couple years ago, I had a woman ask me if I'd been on a certain type of chemo. I told her no, that I'd just shaved my head for asthetic reasons. I saw her the following week at the restaurant she worked at, and her hair was gone. She'd gotten the courage to give up the wig she'd worn since she'd started chemo. I think any woman that has that much self power is one that deserves to be applauded. I'd probably feel different if my hair were taken from me by chemo, I know.

It may not be fair of me to say this, but I think if you are confident, go without the hats and scarves (as long as it's not too cold). ;) You may give the next woman you see the confidence to do the same.

    Prayers and love and bald-power,
    Amanda

  5. Susie- Saying a prayer for you again! I know how hard it is for someone to lose their hair. It is just such an outward sign of the ravages of chemo on the body. It humbles a person and makes them feel vulnerable. I hope you find some wonderful hats! Hugs- Diana

  11. Susie, thank you so much for the kind comments on the magazine tree. I was shocked at how many people have done these before.. Kinda crazy!

I just read your post about Ovarian Cancer. I am so sorry to hear that you have to go through this. I will pray for a rapid and uncomplicated recovery. Hair does come back.. think of all the cute hats you can get.
