~White Wednesday ~ Cover Up~

~This post is dedicated to coverings....windows, benches and footstools~

I've shown my bedroom curtains before, but under the window is an antique chest (which was my first antique I ever purchased) which holds my treasured memories.  The chest is in really bad shape, and I thought I would make a cover with the white linen, but I had a brain blast last weekend.  I used a piece of a gathered linen bedskirt which I disassembled and actually used thumb tacks to adhere it to the base of the chest.  I then just put a linen 'holds everything' piece that I store my extra pillows in (usually under the bed).  I'm pretty happy with the end result....especially since it took all of 15 minutes!

I used the remainder of the bedskirt to redo my ugly footstool (used hot glue on this project), and just laid my vintage grain sack over the top!

I'm sure I'll be making  different coverings for the top as well!

This bench was a curbside find from an old garden set.  The top had been covered with multiple layers of vinyl flooring which was impossible to remove it all.  I solved the problem by covering the top with an old linen shower curtain.

This was a curtain I made from a vintage damask tablecloth and linen from my old house. I cut it into and used half for my shower curtain and the other is a window covering.
