One of my secrets!

If you've never heard of, or used, Downy Wrinkle Releaser...you're in for a treat!  I love this product, and I'm always surprised when I mention it to friends that they have never heard of it!  It works great on most fabrics to remove the wrinkles.  Now it does not give the same crisp appearance as an iron would, but all you have to do is spray it on your fabric and smooth it out.  I rarely iron anymore!  I've only seen it at Target, and costs around $6.00, but well worth it.

This morning I changed the slipcover on my chair, and the linen was so wrinkled...well you can guess the rest.  See for yourself:

White Wednesday ~ Nature's Whites

This White Wednesday is all about nature's variegated whites...from the soft muted shades of white in assorted nests to the beautiful variegations in leaves.  Nature never ceases to amaze me!  Of course, when you consider the Master Artist of it all, it's no wonder!

I just had to add this pic at the end.  I bought these cute white bird s & p shakers today at Pier One for $3.00  for the pair!  I thought that's a pretty great price.  They're real cute and look great with ironstone!

Help me...I need your advise and expertise!

Ok, so the cupboard/tv thing has been making me nuts lately!  The stepback cupboard is a great primitive country piece with old paint in green with the doors in a creamy white.  If you will, imagine the tv gone and the top doors closed...looks much better.  Anyway, this is my only option to house the tv. So.....here's my dilema.  I want the green gone...so over it. I do not like the way it looks in the room at all!  Sooooo, should I repaint it?  I'm not really a huge fan of repainting over old paint, but as you can see, there are a few issues with the original (old) finish.  The green is kind of funky in places, and it looks like someone stripped a portion of the bottom and top doors to see 'what lies beneath'.

I would truly appreciate your input....to paint it white or not?  I'm pretty sure I could do a decent job using faux and distressing techniques . I don't think the 'pure white' would go well with my other white pieces.  Please be brutally honest and tell me what you think.....Think of it as kinda a 'rate my space' thing!

This chair and ottoman will be slipcovered in white!  I've had the sage green way too long (12 years)!

Thanks for your input!

White Wednesday

Whites in the living room.  I've been wanting a new sofa, or at least a new slipcover for this one.  I do have a beige slipcover, which I just removed to wash...but I really want white.  I may attempt for make one myself as I have been inspired by fellow bloggers who have make amazing slipcovers. I may also want to lighten the color of the walls.  They were painted this color when we moved in, and this has just not been a high priority.  What do you think...lighter, white?  Not sure!

The pictures do not do the rug justice.  My husband brought this home from work one day...it was destined for the dumpster!  It is made by a company in Sweden called Kasthall.  The content is 100% linen in a 'shag' style!  I found a company in New York that sells these rugs, and this rug is over $1,000!  Can you imagine.  It is in perfect condition!

Remember the concrete stump from my last WW post?

This is a little clay crow that a friend of mine made...to cute for fall!

I love this little sawbuck side table...one of my favs!

I looked for the longest time for a coffee table.  This farm table had been cut down and it is so sturdy.  Feel free to prop your feet up or leave drinks on it.  My grandson and friends sit on the small chairs to eat, play games, shape play dough, etc.  No worries here!  Love it... I'm all about comfort!

Thank you Kathleen at fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com/ for hosting White Wednesday..it has become one of my favorite days of the week!

Is Your Name Susie?

My birthday is this month...and I would like to give away "THE SUSIE BOOK".  It was given to me many years ago by a dear friend, and I think it's time to 'pay it forward'!   It is the cutest little book with great graphics, dated 1911....By the way, in case you don't know me...my name is Susie, and I love to give presents on my birthday!

Anyway, if you are named Susie, or know of someone named Susie, I would love to give this book  as my  "birthday'  gift!  Simply leave a comment letting me know why you, or your Susie, would love this cute little book.  I'll be making a decision and posting the recipient on the 23rd!

Today, I am just a Grandma!

My grandson, Javan ~ age 6, comes to stay every weekend.  I can't wait until Friday evening when he walks in the door.  Of course, at this age, I practically have to hog-tie him to get my hugs and kisses!  He is truly a bright, shining light in our family, and brings the gift of continual joy to us.  I know I'm a 'gushy' grandma, but I just can't help myself!  He's so funny, always laughing and happy.  I bribed him to let me take a few pics, and I told him I wanted to show him off to my friends in blogville!  So, without further adue, I introduce...Javan Ryan....

He has double dimples....too cute!

How 'bout those big brown eyes!

He got his two front teeth long before Christmas!

WHITE WEDNESDAY

White Wednesday featuring garden concrete. I love concrete in the garden, but I also bring pieces inside as well.  Concrete has such great texture, and the patina on the vintage concrete adds wonderful eye appeal...inside or out!

I have these two "stumps" (I can't throw anything away) just lying around...need to do something fun with them.  Any suggestions?

I have two of these vintage "faux bois" planters.

This was one of the 'legs' of a concrete bench, but the top broke into.  I had this old piece of scaffolding which I used to make another bench.  I think this has more character!

Another broken piece from a bird bath....

I found this vintage birdbath at an estate sale many years ago.

Funny thing....NOBODY knows how 'bunny' lost it's ears!  Can't imagine!!!

Fall in Florida......Not!

Even though it is 90 degrees outside, I'm trying hard to feel the fall fever.  I searched my garden and even ventured into my neighbor's to find some fall colors....
